Secretary Ministry of Environment Kamran Lashari may replace Secretary Petroleum Mahmood Saleem Mahmood, Business Recorder has learnt. Secretary Petroleum Mahmood Saleem is going to get retirement on February 3. Sources said that he is likely to get appointment in Presidency after his retirement.

Mahmood Saleem is a seasoned bureaucrat who is also currently heading an expert committee on oil pricing. At present, two officials, senior Member Board of Revenue Sindh Ghulam Ali Pasha and Secretary Ministry of Environment Kamran Lashari are in the race for becoming new Secretary Petroleum. "But, it is strong possibility that Secretary Ministry of Environment Kamran Lashari will be made new Petroleum Secretary," sources maintained.
